Eyelids and the eye area

Blepharoplasty in Valencia

A tired-looking eye area can involve skin, eye bags, volume and eyelid support. I assess them together to plan surgery that respects your expression, combined with CO2 laser to treat the skin.

Assessment and treatment

Skin is only one part of the eye area

Before deciding, I also assess brow position, the relationship between eye bags and the tear trough, and lower eyelid support. Dark circles and drooping eyelids do not all have the same cause.

01

Upper eyelids: volumetric contouring

I address excess skin while taking care of eyelid volume. The aim is not to hollow the eyelid: I plan what to preserve and how to balance its contour.

02

Lower eyelids: fat repositioning

I reposition fat from the eye bags towards the tear trough when the anatomy allows. This addresses the transition between eyelid and cheek. If support needs reinforcing, I may add a canthopexy.

03

CO2 for the skin

I combine surgery with CO2 laser on the skin, tailoring the area and intensity to the individual. Each technique has its role: surgery addresses the tissues and laser the skin surface.

After treatment

Recovery and follow-up

Swelling and bruising are part of recovery. Their duration depends on whether the upper eyelids, lower eyelids or both are treated, and on the associated laser treatment. During consultation we agree on downtime, follow-up and stitch removal according to the technique.

Realistic expectations

What we agree before treatment

I cannot promise an invisible scar or the disappearance of every type of dark circle. Surgery requires an assessment of dry eyes, eyelid closure and support, as well as your expectations.

Frequently asked questions

Blepharoplasty

Where is the scar?

In the upper eyelid it lies in the crease. For the lower eyelid, the approach depends on the skin and tissues requiring treatment. I will explain where it would lie and how it may develop.

What does canthopexy add?

It reinforces support at the outer corner of the eye when indicated. It is not added automatically: the decision depends on the examination and surgical plan.

What risks should I know about?

Risks include bleeding, infection, unfavourable scarring, asymmetry, dryness and changes in eyelid position or closure. Serious visual complications are uncommon but must be discussed before surgery.

How much does it cost?

The initial consultation costs €150, in person or by video. A treatment quote is prepared after assessment, according to the agreed plan.
