Neck rejuvenation

The neck ages in several ways at once: the skin (wrinkles, texture, spots and redness), fat and laxity. Neck skin also heals less well than facial skin, so techniques and settings need to be different.

How I treat it

Skin, colour and contour

I separate skin problems from fat or laxity, because each is treated with a different tool. The neck plan is often combined with the face and double chin.

01

Skin quality

For wrinkles and texture I use CO2 laser with neck-specific, more conservative settings than on the face, or non-ablative fractional laser and microneedling radiofrequency when you prefer less downtime.

02

Spots and redness

Sun-related spots and redness on the neck are treated with pulsed light and vascular laser, often in the same session as the skin.

03

Fat and laxity

If there is fat under the jaw, I treat it with endolaser and liposuction (see double chin). For mild laxity I use focused ultrasound; if there is marked sagging, we consider a MACS lift.

After treatment

Recovery and follow-up

It depends on the technique. Non-ablative laser and radiofrequency leave redness for one or a few days. CO2 on the neck requires more days of aftercare than on the face. If we add double-chin treatment, swelling usually lasts at least a week.

Realistic expectations

What we agree before treatment

Results on the neck are usually more modest than on the face and more sessions are needed. Muscle bands and marked excess skin are not solved with laser or energy alone.

Frequently asked questions

Neck rejuvenation

Can CO2 laser be used on the neck?

Yes, but with more conservative settings than on the face, because neck skin heals less well. For some skin types I prefer non-ablative laser or radiofrequency.

How are spots and redness on the neck treated?

With pulsed light and vascular laser. The neck and chest often show spots, redness and thin skin from sun exposure at the same time.

When is surgery needed?

When there is localised fat that does not respond to other techniques, or marked sagging. In that case we consider double-chin liposuction or a MACS lift.

Can it be combined with facial treatment?

Yes. Face and neck are usually treated in the same session so the result is even.

How much does it cost?

Non-ablative fractional laser and microneedling radiofrequency cost €400 per session. CO2 laser by area costs from €1,800 per session, and double-chin treatment from €2,400. The initial consultation (€150) is not deducted from the treatment price.
